Damiano Vezzosi - a member of the Italian Professional Journalists Association - was born in 1969 in Empoli, Tuscany. He starts his professional career in 1992, when he joins the staff of the Florentine daily newspaper La Nazione. He continues to work for the same newspaper until 2003. During this time, he is posted to several newsrooms across Tuscany and Umbria - Firenze, Massa, Carrara, Siena, Arezzo and Perugia. He covers current affairs, sport news and important regional events. Between 1993 and 1997 he also joins the Radio Fatamorgana team in Empoli, writing and reading radio news and covering current affairs and sports news. In 2002 he becomes a professional journalist. In 2003 he moves to Toronto, Canada, where he works as reporter for the daily newspaper Corriere Canadese, reporting on news on Italy, World and Sports. He covers important sports events such as the 2003 World Cycling Championship and three seasons of professional hockey (Nhl). For two years he is also a foreign correspondent for the Italian international news agency Ansa. In September 2007 he moves to Bolzano, where he works for Corriere dell’Alto Adige, local edition of the national newspaper Corriere della sera.

Gessica De Angelis has a degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures (Università degli Studi di Torino), a Master in Italian (University of Pittsburgh, USA) and a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics (University of London, UK). She carries out research on the acquisition of third or additional languages, crosslinguistic influence between non-native languages and foreign language education. She has published several linguistics articles in national and international journals such as Language Learning, International Journal of Multilingualism, Multilingua, Rassegna Italiana di Linguistica Applicata. She is the author of a book – Third or Additional Language Acquisition - published by Multilingual Matters UK, and of book chapters in volumes on multilingualism. She gained extensive experience teaching to students in the most varied contexts. She taught Italian language courses for almost 15 years in Italy, England, USA and Canada. She taught seminars in Second Language Acquisition and Foreign Language Education in England and Spain. From 2002 to 2006 she worked as an Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics in Canada. In 2006 she returned to Italy, where she is currently working as a Researcher at the Free University of Bolzano.
